Developmental Toys for Your 1 Year Old

Your child has turned 1 and suddenly, they seem so big! The next few months, your child will soar to new milestones. The question all parents have is this: how do I help my child progress? With so many options on toys and equipment, it’s hard to know what to buy.

A lot of the toys and equipment on this chart are the basics to helping your child learn gross and fine motor skills, as well as build their language and cognitive skills. In addition, your child is at a crucial age in where they can start to be more independent in self-care tasks, such as dressing, feeding, drinking, and even participate in brushing their teeth and bathing!

Each child learns at their own pace, but as parents, we can offer tools to help progress to these milestones and watch proudly at all the success.
